Hello!  I've taught for over 18 yrs & if you name it, I've probably taught it or at least tried it.  What I've decided to create for U here at New U is a combination of all the things that helped me grow personally...so I know it works!  Also with using a little AUTHENTIC creativity to bring you some NEW things!!  My PASSION & PURPOSE is helping people FEEL GOOD!  "The universe is my home, all beings are my tribe, and oneness is my religion."  My "hope" you will always leave here with a world class experience & feel like a NEW U.  EXCITED to now offer Yoga Alliance YTT 200 Hr. I was first introduced to Baptiste Power Yoga in 2006 through a dear friend while living in Denver, Colorado.  I started taking regular classes at the many Core Power Yoga studios around the city.  I absolutely loved the way I felt in such a short amount of time.  The peace and calm it created in my life as well as the transformation my body was going through resonated deeply within me. I quickly became a student of yoga and regularly attended level II and level III power yoga classes for three years.  In 2010, I decided to deepen my own practice through teacher training.  I received my 200hr RYT in Power Vinyasa Yoga, through Free Soul Yoga.  Power Yoga is a dynamic, energizing form of exercise that sculpts, hones, and tones every muscle in the body.  Moving through poses we purposefully connect our breath to our movement.  Your breath is what links your mind to your body and you to the present moment.  I am very excited and grateful to be part of the New U Yoga team.  So get your mat and come check out one of my classes!



I started practicing yoga in 2009 when I lived in Green Bay, WI. Shortly after, I found out that I was expecting my first child and continued in the same yoga class throughout my pregnancy. My instructor helped me with modifications as my belly grew, but he was not prenatal certified. During this time, I was also working toward becoming a certified birth doula (DONA). After the birth of my daughter, it became clear that these experiences could come together in a beautiful potion to empower, strengthen, and educate expecting women.
In 2012, my husband, daughter and I moved back home to central Iowa (Ankeny), and shortly after, I completed the Roots Prenatal Yoga Certification course (80 hours) in February 2013. I taught through the pregnancy of my second daughter and have been passionately sharing prenatal yoga with expecting women since. I began teaching in Ankeny in January 2016.
